Ronald McDonald House Charities over the World base on the birth of the first Ronald McDonald House…
The first Ronald McDonald House® was opened on October 15,1974 in Philadelphia, U.S.. Thanks to Dr. Audrey Evans, Philadelphia Eagle player Fred Hill (whose daughter, Kim, had leukemia), Leonard Tose, owner of the Eagles, Jim Murray, the Eagles general manager and Ed Rensi, the McDonald’s regional manager.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
We know that families are stronger when they are together, and their presence helps a sick child heal faster and cope better. While Ronald McDonald House Charities® cannot make medicine taste better or take away painful treatments, we can help lessen the burden and ensure more than 4.5 million families a year over the world have the stability and resources they need to keep their child healthy and happy.
For 40 years, our approach has been to think globally but act locally by tailoring our programs to address the most urgent needs of each community we serve. With a network of local Chapters, our core programs can be found in 57 countries and regions around the globe, and all the Chapters share the same mission.
